Because Knuckles, Shadow, Eggman, Metal Sonic, Zavok, Miis, Vector and Waluigi (Hello again) have done it too, by your logic
Knuckles and Shadow are highly requested for SSF2
Eggman makes sense considering his assortment of mechs
Metal Sonic, Vector and Zavok are natural Powerhouses
Miis are anything and everything
Do I even need to reiterate what Waluigi's role in spinoffs is
And let's also include every other character in the Mario & Sonic Olympics series since they've done it too

Let's take for example, Mario Party 3.

Chibi-Robo, Mr. Game&Watch and even Ness was barely an offensive character in EarthBound. Many crossovers have characters that barely qualify for a fight and it's increddibly fun.

He's a big third-party icon known to be the temporary mascot for Sony. I feel like there's a possibility we could see him due to his history with Nintendo and Sony, much like Sonic.


I feel like we could get a very large roster similar to Crusade, due to how big the starting roster is for SSF2.
The least I'd really expect is 50-60, maximum is 70.


I did not add Roy because I think the devs did not plan him due to his clone-status, unlike other semi-clones like Wolf and Lucas.

I am aware he does have semi-clone changes in Smash 4, but I'd think by that point it's too late to reconsider him.

I removed Lip, as I feel SSF2 is going to only focus on characters that debuted during the Gamecube/Gameboy Advance era. I don't think retros will be a focus for SSF2's roster.


I don't think SSB4 Nintendo newcomers are going to get added until expansions come.

Hence the removal of Villager, Shulk, Little Mac, etc.

I think only certain third SSB4 third-parties can be the exception like with Pac-Man, where he was previously an AT.

So I think Cloud and Ryu are the only SSB4 3rd parties who are going to be added, but I think were planned long before Smash 4 due to their highly iconic status. Since SSF2 also focuses on adding iconic third parties.
