Save the image as a Gif. If you don't want distortion on the coloration, what I do is save the Gif as a Gif in gamemaker. I'm sure you've heard of it. Believe it or not, it is handy for this. Just make sure the images are all the same size.

For the ones before the CS thingy, like 7.0, it should come with Image Ready. Image Ready can make gifs for you.
