Anyway,how do you guys think tricks will work for Mario Kart 8 do you guys think that you will be able to choose what type of tricks you could perform like in Mario Kart Wii or do you think that it will kinda perform tricks for you like in Mario Kart 7?

I didn't play too much Mario Kart after DS. What upsides did tricks have? I'd assume they'd be speed boosts.

Press the button, you perform the trick. That's all there is to it, it works identically to 7's from what I played.

I forget exactly what button I had to press (I had to ask the associate), but it wasn't the dpad. I feel like it was ZR, but I can't remember for sure. (Assuming gamepad control)

R. (or L, I presume) Tricks work exactly the same way as they do in MK7.

I guess? You might be able to do it the same way as in Wii but seriously MK7's method is so much better

Drifting also works the same way as in 7, so no. It's pretty much impossible.
