In the past 4 years I've been facing a lot of personal challenges and it has helped me grow as a person. It also helped me realise that I had a lot of options I had to explore. I increasingly felt a desire to focus more on my own art. As part of the Dev Team I couldn't do that because spriting for SSF2 sucked away most of my free time. I couldn't do pr work and everyone outside of MG still thinks Cleod does all the spriting in SSF2 himself lmao.

I've grown a lot since I started in the dev team, but now the time felt right to call in quits and persue other goals and work for myself again. Going back into the red and working towards moving to zero. There are still many things I did for SSF2 that you'll see pop up eventually though, so be looking forward to that.

Right now I'm working on established a broader audience and doing commission work, which has been super fun so far. Everyone has been really supportive so far and I'm just having a great time in general lately.

So does this mean you will stick to commissions only?

I love how Cody's rocking modern prison gear instead of pajamas, and over his original (Looks like it, anyway) costume.
And Plague Knight's shading is pretty awesome, too.

I thought Cleod was a horrible spriter. Never really kept myself updated on that though lmao

At this point I'm not in the position to do requests anymore lol. I'll still be working on my own stuff and if I can ever fix another indie gig (this time for a smaller project lmao) I'd go for that too.

But that's the thing with projects like this; you can't really tell who does what. People started picking up on my particular style on characters, but there are other spriters that delivered character work too. Luigi was made by Zero Insanity and ElvisDitto for example.



I'm actually a big fan of outlines but I wanted to try an outlineless approach because some spriters that I liked pulled it off well. I've been doing practise with it ever since.

I wasn't referring to SSF2.

You do great work outside of it and from what I've heard the animations of characters I was told you've worked on the majority of were very smooth. There are multiple problems I have with the game's art but to keep this post from seeming offensive I'll just say that all of the spriters on the team do a good job at what they do, but could definitely touch up the game a bit.
