Well, i had thought up a basic idea, not much to it right now, it would be called "The Rift".

Once a month, we'd set up a tournament (2 format ideas for it currently). the back story to it is simple, and i haven't put much into that aspect yet ^^; being its not a traditional rp to boot. But it'd be a rip in time and space that'd allow people to pull out any character of their creation to face off against others, effectively making battles between sci-fi and medieval chars possible as well any any cross universe confrontations.

first format is traditional stuff, either stat based or non-stat based, of simple tournament procedures. small brackets leading to a final match, etc.

my second format however is more along the lines of the player(s) versus specified enemies/characters from -anyones- rp background and/or games.

for example, Round 1: Player(s) vs Evox Effigy x2 (Monsters from Ninivas universe) and # number from whoever else's, or lets say we wanna throw some more well known enemies in there, we can make it Round 1: Player(s) vs Neoshadowx2 & Defender (Kingdom hearts) or heck, even cross the 2 and make them fight enemies/characters form an rp universe as well as from a gaming one, skies the limit, i think itd be as fun setting up the matches and thier type, as it would be to actually play them.


who's ever universe they beckon from, controls them (in the case of non-Original enemies, the DM can stand in). also, stat or non-stat based. the rewards would be well.. if this were the old forums, id say negotiate with Cleod for gold. but we lack that feature. so thats still up in the air. Itd be hosted in RPG

Please give me your comments, if this idea is no good, or impossible to pull off, lets shoot it down now before it implodes on itself.

A tournament once a month seems, meh. How long would each one last? Would only RPB members be allowed in it? (I'd guess that as a yes since it's here and not general RP discussion) It just seems all around.. Complicated.. I honestly can't see it happening, and being maintained for several months.

RPG forum, not RPB. RPG because id want it to be larger scale, i only came here since the perspective of you guys matters more.

I think PvP for some of the normal Rpers would be much too imposable.

I had mostly wanted to do format 2.. as well as some way to really reward them. Its not supposed to be a traditional RP, more so just something you can jump right into. but i see what you mean..

alot of the others havent ever done PvP RP ._.;.. Im thinking about just taking this thread down soon c.c;;

Personally, I don't like the idea, but people in the RPG section would go for ANYTHING from the RPB section. All you have to do is organize it well enough, and shorten that once a month thing.. Seriously, I don't think I've ever RPed more than a few months on the same one.[/hypocrite]

I said once a month only because i wasnt sure how well we'd be able to maintain it, so i was thinking slow at first. If itd hit off, itd be more.

Though I rarely use the same character twice for any RP, I think I can pull one from my fiction for this.
