I always wondered how the Smash Bros games would look using sprites instead of 3D models, and i mean official smash games, so the fan games dont count, no matter how well they mimic them.

I always pictured it looking similar to Jump Ultimate Stars, now that would be awesome.
All this i meant for the 3DS version...

Anyways, im sure they will figure out how to get it to look good on 3DS, they could just make the game with no extremely large stages, or just make it more easy to see yourself with more visible player markers. Would be nice if they were always visible unlike in brawl where they periodically disappear.

If there's ever an official smash game that uses sprites instead of 3D models, I'm gonna choke Sakurai.

Sprites can look good if they are used right, they arent always bad.

Definitely would prefer 3D models for this kind of game regardless. They don't take as long to animate and in most cases look better/more room for detail.

I know, i was just pondering how the game would look with that kind of design. May be interesting, though im more for 3D models as well.

Things like Hanenbow and PictoChat would be pretty cool though.
The way your character appeared to be two dimensional.

I hope that doesn't happen. There are too many things to choose (race, attacks, final smashes, etc.), and it could make complicated balancing issues for the developers.

Yeah, that could be a huge problem. Maybe they can have it where you can't use the character online or something.

Maybe a special online mode for using the characters?
Also, there would be a meter that goes up as you make your better and if you max it out, then the rest of your attacks and things will have to suck.

If the team was smart, they wouldn't add it at all.

It didn't. It was only Hanenbow and the two flat zones.

Wow, you really do have poor tastes.
2D sprites take way more effort then 3D models and can go at such levels of detail that it will retain a timeless style.
It'd prove Sakurai cares about the series more then anything :P

Boss for sure, cameo hazards suck usually.

Yeah, I guess. Definitely should be tough; wasn't Nightmare just that in terms of difficulty when he first showed up?

Also, it doesn't seem like 2D sprites are what he's going for at all.

Well looking better is very open to debate.
Congrats on your wonderful realization BTW.
