I recently purchased an HDMI to VGA cable thinking my laptop would work on my HDTV(No HDMI port on my laptop) but I'm not exactly knowledgeable when it comes to any sort of hardware. Apparently you need a VGA to HDMI CONVERTER for this to work but I'm not sure which brand/model would work the best for my price range. I'm willing to grab one for a max of $100. Please help.

VGA to HDMI cables don't work. They're a scam. VGA is analog. HDMI is digital. You can't link them with a single cable
