Playing Team fortress earlier today with the guys + my uncle that I only saw a couple times for some reason when I released the problem of game choppiness/lag was the gigs of memory being downloaded

For traits, you could go Good Natured (not very crippling since you'll mainly use unarmed anyway), Heavy Handed, Wild Wasteland, and Small Frame (if you don't mind getting crippled easily).

Wild Wasteland is mandatory but I also usually pick Heavy Handed. Speaking of witch, My main save, the one I started with, didn't have Wild Wasteland. But I got really far and played all the dlc eith it so I stuck with it. Then suddenly Old World Blues gives you the option to change your original traits. I love you Old World Blues.
