I'm currently reading The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz, and I'm loving it. I'm only about 20 pages in, but the writing style is extremely entertaining and I'm engrossed by the story so far.

I've been going through the Haruhi Suzumiya series recently, but I set that on hiatus since I got halfway through (after Rampage). I like it, especially once I hit the story that wasn't animated ("Snowy Mountain Syndrome"). I put it on pause because the last two books I ordered are set to arrive in November, so I decided to amuse myself with a few other books that came out recently while I wait.
Right now I'm reading This Is How You Die, the second volume of short stories involving the Machine of Death. It has been really amazing so far, much better than the first (and I thought that one was pretty good too). Only finished the first five stories so far, but "Old Age, Surrounded by Loved Ones," "Shiv Sena Riot," and "Zephyr" already made my favorites.

im reading this 1950's science fiction collection, has four books in it, starts with The Space Merchants, a really interesting satire about a future earth that's become obsessed with advertising, and a powerful advertising firm is able to market away all of Venus on its own.
