I and many of my friends are boycotting Chick-Fil-A in response to the discovery that Chick-Fil-A holds a strongly oppositional stance to same-sex marriage rights and CEO Dan Cathy has claimed to uphold the "biblical definition of a family unit". He posits, "We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives", trying to augment his reasoning. Chick-Fil-A has donated a large sum of money to supplement anti-gay organizations that actively work to "defend traditional marriage" and keep homosexuals away from that right.

Let's not argue about it, but is anyone else responding to this?

I question the judgement of anyone who was eating there in the first place

I think gay people who are morally offended by this should go get lives and quit being so self-righteous. I'll probably still eat there, since the one in my town is known for being pretty good, and I've always wanted to try it.

...How is it self-righteous to be offended?

Seems a tad more self-righteous to try to assert one's own religious beliefs as the law of the land.

He (Dan Cathy) is offended by gays, gays are offended by him. It's not like this is going to end well for him, just look at what the government is doing to support gays.

Who are you referring to when you say "he"?

This is an interesting case, actually. Can I side with the religious nutjobsd, for now? I mean, I don't agree with the way they think, I think it's silly, outdated and even outright ridiculous, but they have a right to think like that and to sponsor groups that promote their way of thinking. I'm going with Geno on this, it's self-righteous to do a boycott for this reason.

Sorry for not making that clear in the first post, I'll go fix it.

And yeah, I'm with Ramsey and Hakker.

Lol I still can't see how refusing to give my money to a business that tries to deny people I love their rights is self-righteous. It's not self-righteous to uphold my own convictions, it's logical.

I'd assume there wouldn't be so many boycotting it that they go out of business.

I wouldn't say that's the intention of the boycott.
