Quick question, but can anyone tell me how I'm doing on perspective and line work? I've been really focusing on that as of late. Despite the fact that it's basic as hell, I personally think that the omega wii fit stage is my best looking sprite so far. Anyway...

Recently I've been working on a resprite of the Lavender Town. It's still a work in progress, but Just wanted to see how I was doing so far. Also, I decided to not add the dome. I think the stage is fine without it, and, as far as I'm concerned, the original Pokémon Tower was flat on top.

Also, I'll probably start taking some suggestions in regards to what stages I should make.

Have you read the theory about 'vanishing points' already?

No, but I know what they are. I read a whole article about them. They're the next thing I need to work on.

I think if you do that you'll see an increddible developement in your stage work. Feel free to give me a ring if you get stuck.

Quick question, but in the original Pokémon Tower sprite I made did the tombstone in the background count as a vanishing point? It's farther in the b-round and is smaller than the tombstones in the front.

Try to first understand how perspective drawing works. Your stage creation skillis will skyrocket with a propper knowledge on the subject.
Search in youtube explanation and tutorial of 1, 2 and 3 point perspective. Generaly, for Smash brosh stages, you work with 1 point perspective. Is quite simple to learn it.
.
Once you know how to do perspective, learn how to sprite properly. First work on your line art, and then go for shading.

Alright, so I was trying to test out vanishing points... Ignoring the pipe, do the trees give off the perspective of a vanishing point?

Was going to make a bunch of Mario Maker stage sprites, but got lazy and only made one. Plus trying to resize everything so that they fit together was aggravating.

I'm probably not going to finish this. It's just kind of... Boring. Although, I would like to see some opinions cause I've never made a stage with a perspective like this. Looks kind of jank.

When you do vanishing points think of color too. The farther something is, the harder it gets to see, the softer the color is. Actually I don't think softer is the word, but basically you have to give your stages more color difference to show something is farther away. Just a thought.
