Personally I date now, just cause it's fun. Nothing to serious or long term obviously. that's what makes it fun though, knowing it isn't permanent. In short, I'm enjoying being young I guess.

Honestly I detest that kind of behavior. It doesn't prepare you at all for the real world. I wouldn't be surprised if that's one of the reasons divorce rates are skyrocketing, since that type of mindset is becoming more and more common. But to each their own.

I would try talking to the girl and being honest about your feelings with her, maybe if you notice hanging out with her is going well. The friends are a secondary barrier, not a primary one. If she doesn't and would rather stay friends, then that's the end of that. Don't pressure her. If she says she has some feelings for you as well, bring up her friends. Say that they don't condone a relationship between you two. It's MUCH easier to get it out early then to wait and deal with the issue on your own. She'll either dismiss them or tell you something about how she'll talk to them, or needing time to think.

I would go for it. Talk -> Confess -> Bring up friends. Hope that helped ya.
