That's because no one plays Pikachu.

Pikachu is pretty strong but IDK about most broken lol

I main him, so does Tyler and Blossom; I know Auraka has extensive experience with him and DescendedSun has him as a secondary. He's really solid but yeah, he has his own share of problems lol; he has no option to cover behind him while in the air (Side-B exists, but lag lol) and has basically next to no aerial maneuverability outside of Up-B. Projectile is useful but is slow enough to a bit too risky against most faster opponents. Tiny arm Grab range is tiny lol His non-Smash attacks (including D-Air) actually don't have very high Priority and gets beats out by Disjoints; F-Smash is nice Disjoint but it can't be used to win Neutral lol

I faced all of you and know exact how you play. There's just some questionable things I tend to expect. More Dsmash frame-traps. Better follow-ups from throws (his ground speed makes up for his short grab-range). Better edgeguarding awareness. Feels like he's undeveloped; not in technical skill, maybe just fundamentals. Definitely could be better full abusiveness of his over the top knockback power.

He's not undeveloped anymore... :pikachu:

Like Crow Braixen said, Pikachu is OP in Smash 64.

But there are few Pikachu players in most Smash games because Pikachu's learning curve is steep (imo).

Yeah, I agree with that. 64 is probably the exception because he's the best in the game there. And technical barriers don't matter to people when the character is bonkers (same for Melee Fox).

Which version of Pikachu do you guys think is easiest to play?

Also, is there a resource that lists Pikachu combos or anything? All I do is spitball combos, so it'd probably be good to learn more about my main, lol :pikachu:

Melee Fox is awful unless you know how to use him though, he's not braindead like Brawl MK.

Yeah, no doubt about it. I'm just saying that more people are willing to put the effort into learning a character like that if they're really good.

I seriously love the updated sprites on Pikachu! Even though I'll be using the GBC costume 90% of the time

That was mentioned in one of the dev blogs, right?

Or maybe during Smash Con, I just remember hearing about it since I couldn't stand what they did to Pikachu after N64 :p

Pikachu's a character I have pretty much no idea how do deal with. What do I do when I fight him?

Pikachu is a character with some strong priority so it's best to use a disjointed character or a character with good range.

Marth, Lloyd and Ichigo can do well against him.
