Here's one I think is a failure. People think anime is bad because they don't like it. They assume its a genre instead of a medium.

If I remember, the Gaki no Tsukai crew had a black actor in some of their Batsu-game episodes.

In Death Note, L had a funeral as an extra episode.
Though, he also had a movie, showing he wrote his own name in the Death Note to live longer, just in case. He lived about a year longer. ^Death Note spoilers. |
