So, I've been a fan of Westerns and the Wild West in general all my life (Growing up in California and seeing all the old forts and settlements as a kid does that to you), and I love the entire genre in general.
I've been pooling TONS of ideas from classic Sergio Leone spaghetti westerns and John Wayne westerns.

Set in 1886, in an area of southern New Mexico, right along the border.
(At the moment I'm working on the map of the area.)

I had this idea BEFORE Red Dead Redemption (must have gone back since at least early 2009), but there are several similar factors, such as consequences for illegal actions, rising fame from a variety of factors, etc.

Now, how freeform would you guys like this s*** to be?
I was originally going to implement a complex system for gunfighting that is dependent on the ratio of a flipped coin, but in your opinion, is that a good idea, or should I not overly complicate things?
Should I make a list of weapons (similar to my mech RPs), or should I allow you to research for your own period weapons and give you some freedom?

And any other ideas, you guys?
I want this to be enjoyable for everyone, so I want some input.
; )

Wow, that's what gave you inspiration? Red Dead Revolver sucked. Hell, if anything, it should've been Call of Juarez that got you goin'.

You know what, inspiration doesn't matter.

You either got something to contribute, or I don't give two s***.

Well, it does sound interesting. I don't know many people who could pull off a good western character, though.

That was my main issue when I thought of it.

Because the West can be filled with a wide variety of characters, yet I'm afraid people won't really put much effort into it and pull a stereotypical western character.

You should totally pull some s*** insane twist halfway through involving a mine filled with alien crystals that take over the minds of the miners and their employer.

Maybe give a list of weapons, I'm not so good at researching/finding X without getting distracted. And maybe a origin list or something, if you think people might make a stereotypical western character.

I don't know, perhaps a list of pasts, actually, forget what I said, I'm just type whatever comes to mind.

I wasn't going to put bio in the sheets.

Your past doesn't matter, only the history you leave while you are in the world matters.

As far as I've gotten:
Quote:
Name
Age
Appearance
Gun of choice

I might add in personality and some other things later on as I flesh more out.
