Inklings honestly would be cool but I think it's too soon or them to be included "by the end of the month" like the supposed rumor states.
There was no way nintendo knew that splatoon would be as popular as it is until a month or more after it was released and I doubt they'd be able to develop Inklings in such a short amount of time.

Splatatatatatatatatatatatatatta came out in May and people were clearly excited about the game before then. big companies like these have metrics to measure these things, not the least of which being pre-order numbers
