How is that supposed to work, exactly? It would fade out to white at the end of the sentence, then you couldn't read it.

uh why? It doesn't seem like anything anyone would use often.
Second of all, I don't think there's any real easy way to do it. HTML doesn't have any gradient functions I think.

okay, technically you can make gradients, but all it really is is giving each letter a different color using the hex values. But I don't think we really have the time to add that bbcode in. It'd be really annoying.

Just for your reference, PHP is not actually what's downloaded by users. It's the language used server-side to generate html pages to send to users. If you want to ask cleod or someone else who knows php to create a gradient function, go ahead. But I don't think cleod has any spare time for it right now.
