A Community Scavenger Hunt - SSF2 Beta's Unlockables

7: Secret Character

1. "Mushroom Kingdom [64]": Beat Classic mode on any difficulty for the first time, or play Group Smash a few times to unlock this stage.
2. "World Tournament": Play Group Smash a few times to unlock this stage.

6. "Waiting Room": Play a match of Group Smash with the secret character, Sandbag, to unlock this stage.
7. "Sandbag": Beat Classic Mode with a random character on Normal difficulty or higher without using a continue (using all lives and pressing continue). Afterwards, you will be sent off to fight the secret character, Sandbag, in the secret stage, "Waiting Room". Beat Sandbag to unlock him.

I hope some of you found this to be helpful! :D

Would encountering sandbag for the first time count as a match?


I'M SO SORRY FOR NOT RESPONDING!!! I haven't been on for months! Sorry guys! But to answer your question, sadly no, you can't unlock the "Waiting Room" stage by just unlocking Sandbag. You have to play as, or go against Sandbag in a group match. Sorry for not responding!!!

According to TSON, it appears that Pichu WILL be an unlockable character come Beta 1.1.0. HOW he'll be unlocked has not yet been revealed.

There is a certain character you can unlock by participating in a battle as pikachu with 172 damage but I just can't remember his name...

Waluigi will be unlocked by beating Classic Mode with Mario, Luigi, and Wario.
Simon will be unlocked by getting all A ranks on every event besides 51.
Lucario will be unlocked by winning a team battle against Pikachu, Pichu, and Jigglypuff.
Ryu will be unlocked by playing 250 matches
And honestly... No idea for Krystal or Rayman.

Krystal's unlock method would most likely have something to do with Fox.
Probably "clear classic as fox on normal" or the like.

I actually had an idea for Waluigi.

Basically, you'd play as Wario and take on the Mario Bros. (Mario and Luigi) in a 2-on-1 team battle in Versus mode, and Wario would have to LOSE the match in order to have Waluigi appear for his unlock match.
