I would just say this, the dlc costumes are there to make the characters appear visually different/pleasing, which does add a little diversity. Thats all its there for, so if you dont like that kind of stuff, dont buy it. Its not a bad thing to be able to have things like that as dlc, its totally your choice to buy dlc.

I think microtransactions that don't add anything worthwhile to a game should be kept to bare minimum, sure it's nice to have that option, but devs don't need to go crazy with that kind of stuff. I'm perfectly fine with spending maybe ~$5 bucks on small scale DLC, For example, I bought a few customization parts for Soul Calibur V, I only spent about 7-8 bucks on that, and got a good bit of parts for creating original characters. Even then I tried to get parts that came in 'Packs' rather than standalone parts, because obviously those are a rip. Now, for a game like Soul Calibur to have one of the main points of the game being creation of new characters, those DLC added something worthwhile to the game for me.
However, if this sort of DLC were to be for a game like Halo, it wouldn't work. Sure, you can do some cool aesthetic stuff with your spartan, but why spend money on aesthetics when you could buy a new map pack and freshen up the actual game play?
I would gladly pay $20-30 for add-ons, but ONLY if i knew they were adding a CONSIDERABLE amount to the original game, which I expect to be complete at launch (which brings up another issue that, for the sake of this post I won't get into.)

While your statement does have a point, i would argue that not having much dlc that doesnt change the gameplay, wouldnt please those that actually do like dlc costumes/skins. I for example, like having the option of extra costumes and the like. Having a lot of them, gives you choices which is always a good thing.
Again, if you dont like that kind of stuff you just dont buy it, there doesnt need to be less of something if you're not interested in it, there are others out there that will be.

You're very right, I'm saying that for the DLC that is purely aesthetic, they should do some kind of bonus, where they give you several costumes in one bundle; say for instance that one "bundle" came with about 5 costumes and ran for about $5. Then you would get 5 costumes for 5 bucks, which sounds fair to me.

Yeah i would agree with that, however if they had them as a bundle and separate, that would be better in my opinion, as you might not want to pay 5 dollars for a bundle of 5 costumes and only 1 or 2 of them interest you. Of course it doesnt make sense to do this which is likely why they dont but yeah But i wholeheartedly agree with your argument of them going overboard with certain types of dlc, it should be equal parts aesthetics, and gameplay additions.

If you want to see good DLC, look at Fallout: New Vegas (especially Old World Blues)
New areas that expand on the story while also giving you some really nice items that you can take back into the main game

On the other hand, Dead Money was f*** awful, however all the other DLCs are extremely well done.

So ive been wondering, how does one go about doing a Lets Play of a game? What i mean specifically is, is there anything you have to do specifically to make it an LP rather than just a walkthrough?

Talk through the whole thing, don't be boring, tend to play games you haven't played before or in a long time for more hilarity, you can play games you played before but tend to do some fun stuff.
That's all I will put since im on a phone and this was annoying to type

Addendum to that last post: Be witty. Always.
LPing is like being a comedian, except with no live audience and you're playing video games. Try to play games where crazy stuff happens, or there's a lot of stuff to make fun of (corny dialogue, glitches, making some over-the-top character) Just be creative, watch other LPs and do something that everyone else ISN'T doing, but do it right, and you'll have a good time and a good following.
