I am proud to announce that today I am releasing a Yoshi guide! There's a void of guides for people to pick up characters, so I thought I'd start with a very interesting character with few good players. Check it out!

A Yoshi guide  I kinda thinm that having Walk instead of Dash also helps out because FTilt is just so amazing. One thing you could add tho is Grab Release --> Jab --> FSmash for surprise KOs at bigher %.

They aren't easy to make if they are going to be comprehensive.

So, when I eventually get around to releasing my Captain Falcon guide, I'm not sure if I should move it to a document (so that it is written like this Yoshi guide) or I should leave it on the forums. If I do the latter, I can use the forums' formatting (which the guide already has in mind while I have been writing it). However, using the forums would mean I would need to make a new thread, and immediately reserve the 3-4 posts after the OP so that I have space to put the whole guide in. If I use a separate document, I will still have formatting, it just means that people will have to go to an external link. I think that using a separate document for the location seems like a good idea.

I will eventually read the guide, and will offer constructive criticism on where it needs improvements or what it needs to be more comprehensive.

I could make a video of your guide if you want. But there won't be any comentary since I hate the digital sound of my voice. I have a fairly experienced yoshi so there shouldn't be any problems

Currently Playing: Complacency breeds weakness. My opponents won't stop getting stronger, neither will I.
Some criticisms/thoughts (most are just me saying where there should be more info, which can come over time):
  • Table of Contents! Then, a tag system that makes it easy to sort through for the relevant stuff. This guide isn't that long though, but a Table of Contents would be nice.
  • The general matchup theory section is good as a start. I would love to see more in-depth analyses for all of the matchups. I realize that this is quite the undertaking, I have been enlisting help from other users for this portion of my Falcon guide and the MU section will continue to get updated as new info comes in.
  • "If... You are allergic to techskill" XD
  • Just a formatting suggestion (no typos or grammar fixes). On page 3, you start off the Moveset section with Double Jump and then it awkwardly gets cut off to the next page. It's up to you how/if you want to fix this. The Normals section also kind of falls under this category as it is just one sentence (page 4), as well as Specials (page 8).
  • May I suggest a font that has serifs? It makes it a little easier to read (but considering the forums use a sans-serif font it isn't a big deal).
  • Good job going into detail of the moves! I think that listing their respective damages dealt would be nice though.
  • When you mentioned the Egg Toss movement ability, you may want to link a video explaining it. I know that I have the best/only video about it, and I'm not trying to push my video onto this guide, but these sorts of things are the things that you should try to get a video for to explain better.
  • Just a little thing: The Yoshi Bomber, upon hitting an opponent, makes Yoshi fall way slower. Perhaps this is something you may want to make note of :)
  • I love your approach to breaking down the combo game and discussing each part separately. I am most definitely going to revamp the combo section of my guide using this format! I'll probably have more to say (bcuz Falcon lol) but the organization is a great idea.
  • THANK YOU FOR STARTING EDGEGUARDING TECHNIQUES WITH GRABBING THE EDGE, "There is no technique that will net as many kills offstage as this one." omg hyesz (even tho I sometimes don't follow this, I'm just glad this is what you started with).
  • "Yoshi is unique in that his shield dropping animation is still invincible." Is this actually true?
  • Okay, people SHOULD know what stages are good for Yoshi but not everyone can make logical conclusions or connect the dots. In fact, if all I knew about Yoshi was from this guide, I would be hard pressed to decide which stages are the best. A rundown of each stage and its merits for Yoshi would be better imo. This would include what makes a stage good and what makes it not so good for Yoshi.

Also, should I write my guide using the forums or should I use an online document? How would you guys react to several posts of a thread just so I have room for a guide?
