Last time on Smash Island...

• WRXJoey returned from kicking Bagura's a** for the umpteenth time and won the season opener!
• Mein2- *ahem* I mean, "Hanaj", scored a respectable 2nd place, defeating the likes of stefanjoe, TLord, and powta2king to get there.
• Speaking of which, powta stepped into the limelight, placing far higher than his seeding would have you believe.
• Styles attempted (and failed) to skip his fight with Danifire, because "he doesn't speak English", thereby delaying the end of the tournament for almost 2 hours. Yes, I'm blaming him for the delay in Grand Finals too.
• Drarky placed 5th overall, showing that old school is still... old cool.
• Too bad no one was around to witness it, since he didn't save any of his replays.
• At least he proved himself to be the best Black Mage in town again. Sorry Corvid.
• stefanjoe allowed DragonLight to make the top 8 by not showing up for his fight. If you want to be the best, you gotta hang with the rest. In other words, don't drop out. =P
• DarkErmac opens the season with a solid Mediocreth Place.
• Jammy did not drop out this time. The fact that this is a noteworthy accomplishment is a bit depressing, don't you think?

In total, 35 players were involved.

What's going to happen next time? Will WRXJoey return to defend his title? Or maybe someone like Nstinct will rise from the ashes to take his place? Perhaps Monte will enter with yet another friggen alt account? There's only one way to find out!
