It depends on what style he's in. In Brawl, he was based on his Command design with his Assault actor. I wouldn't mind them keeping both those.
I especially don't want them using his 3ds remake voice. God what were they thinking with that.

but what annoys me is how inconsistent the voice acting in SSB4 is

some characters have new clips, some characters have completely different voice actors and some characters straight up reuse every clip from Brawl

Yeah, I agree. I thought it was weird that Roy got a completely new set of clips, yet Marth still reuses the clips from Melee.
Its potentially worse in the Japanese version, as there are some more characters who reuse their voice clips from the Japanese version of Brawl, like Sonic.

I would rather have Sonic's Brawl clips instead of the mix and mess of clips from his new voice actor that comes from different games. I will truly miss his Star KO voice and his taunt clips.

Roy and Mewtwo got new voice actors, but they reused lines from Melee for the most part. I hate it how they didn't even try to give Mewtwo his English voice. I don't care if they used male or female Mewtwo voice clips, but at least give him English voice clips like with Jigglypuff and Lucario. I mean come on, I really like his English voice and his English voice was done very well in my opinion.

I mean if you give Roy a new voice actor, unlike Marth, than at least give him an English voice actor or give him new dialogue instead of re used dialogue from Melee with a new actor.

Fox's voice clips are bad and I miss his Brawl clips, mostly his Star KO voice. I would also rather have his Smash 64 and Melee voice clips over the current clips he has. Falco's voice actor isn't bad at all, well at least imo.

I kinda liked how they kept certain characters using their Brawl voice clips because some of the characters who got new voice clips don't sound right to me. Kirby doesn't sound right to me because his voice actress has aged so he sounds weird, especially when he does the hi taunt.

I miss Pit's old voice clips from Brawl, especially his Star KO voice.

Another thing I read up on from Smashwiki is that Roy and Mewtwo keep one KO scream due to them coming from Melee unlike the two or more that other characters got.

He still retains the same clips from Melee still and the same case applies to Sheik as well.

From what I read up, Yoshi uses the same clips from the original smash 64.

Roy's voice is in Japanese because the game he originated in is Japanese, as is Marth's

unsure why this doesn't apply to Lucas and is reversed with Ness (who has a really Japanese accent despite his game coming out in English and being based in not-America)

the star foxes were best in brawl imo

kirby's "hi" gets worse with every game and sonic's taunts took a huge step down between games

Marth speaks Japanese because hiring voice actors for dubs costs money and they know nobody will complain because they haven't actually played the game he's from

By the time Shadow Dragon was out in English people got used to Marth speaking Japanese in Smash and wouldn't care

Or worse, would cry about it if he spoke English
