It feels COMPLETELY different for me. First of all, bass felt a lot longer than guitar (like A LOT)
The fact that you play bass with your hand always above the strings is another new feeling. (Sounds a bit weird for me when I play like that -_-)
And I have to literally stretch my arm if I want to reach the first fret, which I never had to do with guitar.
And...ya. Those are the things I noticed when I play it. It feels so much different than playing guitar.
It's strange how all the people I know usually play drums or guitar, but never bass...

If you get used to a bass, I'm sure it would.

Sometimes, not always. @Coobit: Try playing bass for Muse - Hysteria And other than that, I just wanna mention Muse uses bass very effectively and you should practice songs from that band.

Its funny how people sometimes complain about the bass being longer, having what i think is a 26.5" scale. A standard guitar scale is 25"-25.5" scale but i trump for a 24.5" because i like the scale to be short as possible since it helps playing to some extent.

Is this referring to the neck or the whole guitar, body and all?

No, just the neck. The scale is the length of the fretboard, which in turn affects how far the frets are from each other.

And that makes it significantly harder to play, eh?

I'm actually quite surprised at that, anyway here's a Wikipedia article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazoo
