I wanted to learn C# a while back but was distracted by the temptation of AS3(making the switch from AS2). It was tedious but I'm managing.

I really wanted to get away from Flash for a while and take up C# but I haven't the slightest clue where to start. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Well of course, I just can't seem to find any decent tutorials.

I googled some but the only ones that game up were very basic gaming tutorials. I just want to get away from Flash. Tid once told me that Flash is like a toddlers language compared to others.

That's...somewhat true I guess

But the power of flash makes up for it so it doesn't really matter

I mean, just LOOK at ssf2, and it's not even done

SSF2 isn't actually that impressive as far as flash games go.

As for C#, my recommendation goes is you learn about how to make user interfaces first, and then make a simple game using it. Things that don't rely on complex classes and so forth, maybe something sprite based, would be a good next step. Then you can start dabbling in 3D.

Watch what you're sayin bro, SSF2 IS impressive.

Just like he said, there are some good tutorials on Google if you search hard enough :)

Sonny 2, the latest Sinjid, Colony was also technically impressive and had a metagame.

I don't specifically remember saying that. Flash isn't really a language, you're thinking of Action script. AS2 is terrible, AS3 is actually pretty cool (though still nothing compared to C++).

Those freeweb tutorials are actually pretty good. I recommend them to anyone wanted to learn C#. I was looking into C# and I found out that it is associated with DirectX but there's one problem, I have no idea how to even begin working with directX. I've googled tutorials and I've found some that actually looked promising but none of them actually explained anything about it. I was wondering if someone could lend me a hand.
