Alright, so I'm looking into building a new computer, my laptop just isn't cutting it for me as it overheats on games. (Don't try to help me on that subject, I tried everything from air blasting the vents to cooling pads and it's just a lost cause) I already have a gaming keyboard and mouse, so I don't need those, I want to keep my laptop HDD so no need for a new Drive, and no need for any OS purchases but in regards to the tower, I need everything. I need a monitor too.

Budget: 300-450

What I'm looking for:

A decent build, I'm looking to play games like Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Far Cry 3 at medium-high, no need for ultra, even low-medium if I have to if my budget is too low

Wireless connection is a must

No need for any DVD-related everything I use is digital

I think that's it

Honestly, I can't see you getting too decent a computer based on your set budget. Maybe if you can get some discount parts you can piece a tower together, but that's promising nothing. Focus on combos, sales, and the like.

With that budget, you've gotta look around. My brother planned to spend up to $500 for parts

And to this day, I don't have a personal home PC T^T

$450 as your high mark in your budget? You might want to shoot a little higher if you plan on playing any sort of game at tolerable settings. Let's take a look at the parts list for a basic computer:
- Case
- Motherboard
- Power supply
- RAM
- Hard drive (you're not going to want to use a laptop HDD in a desktop PC, trust me)
- Video card
- CPU
- Wireless card (per your specification)

Go to newegg.com or whatever parts website you want to use. If you add these parts to a cart you'll easily reach $600-$700. And that's if you cheap out on parts. Not to mention you'll need a monitor too, which will easily tag on another $200 for a good sized one. Unless you can get a used one on the cheap, then maybe $75-$150. PC gaming is an expensive venture to start out with, but after the initial expenses, upgrading every so often isn't so bad. I'd personally wait till you have more saved up. Getting cheap parts will only make you suffer in the future with hardware headaches.

or you can check to see if your TV supports whatever connection computers have

I have my laptop connected to my TV with a HDMI cable so I'm assuming you can do the same thing on a desktop

You'll need to buy a mounting bracket to put it in any normal case. Generally laptop HDDs also tend to read/write slower due to their size/power constraints. You could get it to work, but if you're investing in a new computer, you may as well get a new hard drive.

Lets say I were to hook up my HDD and just place it somewhere in the computer, would that work? I'd get a new drive at a later date, too.

Sure, just make sure it's somewhere where it won't slide into a fan or something. Unless you get a bracket for it, there's not really a standard case that will have a slot that holds it.

Alright, I'll make sure I get more funds to get a decent build...

Could I get some sort of idea for a good build regarding the parts?
