I hope we get Coin Battles in the full game, they showed it on the pre-0.7 Dojo and it seemed pretty fun.

That sounds pretty epic.

Edit : For classic mode, please make sure that they don't lower the difficulty when you lose in a certain difficulty. It is so annoying having to restart/stop just because they lowered the difficulty for no reason.

they only lower the difficulty because you lost lol, but I guess there should be an option or something to turn it off

I speculate Planet Zebes 64 by process of elimination.

The only N64 stages we have are Dream Land, Mushroom Kingdom, and Sector Z (which barely counts, being obviously more closely based on Corneria.)

•Hyrule Castle's out because we already have four Zelda stages.
•Yoshi's Island 64 was in v0.8, but it was replaced by Yoshi's Story.
•Peach's Castle is superseded by its Melee equivalent.
•Saffron City has numerous references to it already in Silph Co.
•Kongo Jungle already has its aesthetics ans hazard covered by Jungle Hijinx, and its layout covered by Yoshi's Island SSF2.

And remember that we even got another Mario stage (Mushroom Kingdom I) despite the fact that we already had 4 Mario stages in the game.

Of course I wouldn't mind Yoshi's Island 64 coming back or Hyrule Castle showing up. (In fact, I think YI64 is way better than Yoshi's Story.)

Look how tiny the tabs are in Beta compared to how they are now. I speculate that there's going to be more tabs for SOME kind of other stages. Possibly several kinds of other stages.

I speculate Special Stages, such as the Break the Targets stages, and alternate versions of normal stages; possibly old layouts that were in earlier demos.

  • I speculate that at least one future character will utilize the attack-switching mechanic that Sora and Mega Man used to use. They've been willing to recycle old assets into new experiences before (take, for example, how v0.8 Sky Sanctuary was turned into Target Test Stage 3), and it's a fun mechanic with a lot of potential. The only problem is, I can't imagine who a fitting character would possibly be.
  • I speculate that Pac-Man's home stage will be from Pac-Man World. I've seen a lot of complaints about those games being completely ignored in Smash 4, so...
  • I speculate that there will be a "final boss" hidden character, requiring something to be done with all other characters to unlock, like :gameandwatch: was in Melee (and, for that matter, SSF1). Again, though, I can't imagine who it would be. (G&W was fitting for the role because he represented an extreme point in Nintendo's history, being the oldest character.)
  • I speculate that Metal Battles in Classic Mode - their presence was implied in the Direct - will take place on Metal Cavern (either the N64 version or the PM version, most likely the former), which will be an unlockable stage. It won't be on Battlefield like it was in Melee because a Fighting X Team is also implied, marked with a "!", and those always take place on Battlefield.
  • I speculate that, when inhaling :gameandwatch: , :kirby: will get a tint effect instead of a hat, to try to recreate his "hat" in the official games. It wouldn't be perfect, of course, but it would be something.
  • I speculate that trophies will be featured in a limited fashion in Beta.
