You know, it's kinda strange. I cried longer and harder about this than I initially thought I would. After learning about the decisions and sacrifices he's had to make to keep Nintendo successful, and all of the people he has had an impact on, I finally realized that we lost more than a video game company president. He was an amazing and talented man who moved people through his words and games, as well as his kindness. We have indeed lost someone who will always be missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, Satoru Iwata (December 6, 1959 – July 11, 2015) It was misinterpreted, but he actually meant that he would just listen more to our opinions for next year's E3 event.

Another life lost to cancer :c Nintendo really impacted my life, let along childhood. Going back home from a long trip and seeing the news all over my social media really killed me inside... And now, this one goes out to everyone who has lost a loved one to cancer;

reading his interviews, he had a really exceptional view on communication and people skills in general. he talked about how in programming the problems are never the fault of the software because it's entirely logic based and just performs what you put into it, so if there's a mistake it means you've made a misstep somewhere, and then went on to explain that he tries to apply this to life skills as well. if someone misunderstands you or doesn't quite act as you expected them to, don't look for the fault in them but instead look for the fault in the way you conveyed to them what you were talking about. just a really great way of thinking about things I think.
