Roy's sword mechanic was that the closer to the hilt an attack lands, the stronger the attack becomes. Basically, the opposite of Marth's.

Also, with the whole E10+ rating, I don't think Tharja's chances are very high; although, I've seen unlikely things happen before. I think Robin has the magic aspect of Fire Emblem covered though.

Didn't Tharja have a trophy that was taken out for being too Tharja? Plus, yeah, Robin's got magic, and dark magic at that.

I also remember that Chrom was also considered, but Robin was chosen over him specifically cause he's not just a sword wielder. A spear wielder would be cool, though.



Ryu'd be cool, but I also can't imagine he'd go in above other people. Roy would need some decent changes, cause plebeians that don't know how games work would whine that there's three Marths.

I really don't unedrstand why they would put Roy in the game. Sakurai said the reason why Chrom isn't in is because he would look too similar to Ike/Marth. Unless they make him look extremely different as in not looking playing like any Fire Emblem characters.

Roy does work a fair amount different from Marth in melee, all they'd have to do is translate that back into this game while going further with tweaking to make him feel more and more different.
