3D Realms, developer of the Duke Nukem franchise, will be fully shut down by the end of the week. Though nothing has been said specifically about the fate of Duke Nukem Forever, we can only assume that this will close the doors on a project that has drug on for 12 years. It should be noted however that Take-Two retains publishing rights should someone pick up the assets and finally bring the game to the table. 3D Realms' closing will not affect the development of Duke Nukem Trilogy for the DS and PSP.

It was amusing, mostly because of Duke's sayings.
Some of the best here -> http://www.soundboard.com/sb/solrosin.aspx

Last week, after 3D Realms' supposed closure, Take-Two sued the company - presumably - for failing to deliver Duke Nukem Forever. The claim demands a copy of the DNF source code and the return of the $12 million Take-Two spent to acquire the publishing rights. [above] Yesterday, 3D Realms responded saying that the company was regrouping but had not closed, that they'd spent $20 million on development, and they'd never received any of the money Take-Two paid Infogrames for the DNF publishing rights.

LoL i hope Take-Two gets full rights. Maybe they'd actually get the game DONE.

It'd be nice if Take-two would pick up development.
Always bet on Duke. 8-)
