Something's off about the eye I think.

Both really. They appear kinda puffy or something. I can't tell you how to fix it but thats what it seems to me

So I took a look at the official artwork and it seems as though Falco's eyes are a lot smaller than in my sprite. He's also got larger eyelashes so i tried to fix both of the sprites.

His eyelashes kinda look, girly now.

Its oddly endearing.

My falco's lashes are longer than the official's, but they are pretty long in general.

Not really bad for a beginner if I'm being honest. Though the bottom one looks better to me imo because the top one looks like it has two mouths.

The main problem that I see is that your lines are jagged. Otherwise, the shaping is decent and readable. I'd post a pic about what I mean, but this thread from VGR has a section that would help. http://www.vg-resource.com/thread-25474.html

it looks great, maybe make the sprite a bit cleaner? for example, you could make the lighter areas of the skin have a brown/light brown outline.
I see a lot of jagged lines, you should fix that. also, delete the random black pixels around her lol, it looks so messy
