After thinking about it, Sub-sections could be used here for stuff we want to post, but we don't want to keep... what do I mean by this? Well, things that get auto-locked or auto-delted after a short period of time, but which are not spam... here you have what I'm thinking about right now: - General flash
- Suggested games/movie
description: suggest your favorite movies and games for people to see them. note: they self-lock after a day of not being posted, they self-delete after a month
- Sprite section
- Minor sprite works
description: Post here your minor sprite works to discuss about them, and improve them. note: they self-lock after a week of not being posted, they self-delete after two/three days
- Sprite sheets
description: Post here sprite sheets you found on the internet (not done by you), which you want to discuss or show. note: they self-delete after two weeks
- ART
- Minor art work
description: Post here some minor art you are working on, to show it to people, and ask them how to improve it. note: they self-lock after a week of not being posted, they self-delete after a month
- Super Smash Bros.
- Fights/torunamet
description: Post in here if you want to challange someone (or anyone) to a super smash battle, or to create a super smash tournament. note: they self-delete after a week of not being posted
- PC gaming
- Online computer game competences
description: Post in here if you want to challange someone (or anyone) to an online game, or an online tournament. You should give a completely description of which game you are going to play, when and How. Topics who fail doing this will be locked note: they self-delete after a week of not being posted
- Console gaming
- Online console game competences
description: Post in here if you want to challange someone (or anyone) to an online console game, or an online tournament. You should give a completely description of which game you are going to play, when and How. Topics who fail doing this will be locked note: they self-delete after a week of not being posted

Tournaments/Competitive Matches would make sense, but not tournaments and overall matches. I don't want Brawl discussion to be lonely like that.

You do understand that it would only be a "subsection" the one dedicated to the matches, right?? Any other kind of discussions regarding "Super smash" (in general) could be still done in the main part of the "super smash brothers" section....

I doubt any of the admins want to do that, it looks like a pain in the a** to code. I like the idea, however.

In fact, it's not... when you create a section or a subsection, it automatically starts deleting and locking posts by default when they get old (you should disactivate it in order to avoid this). So, only thing cleod should do here is create new topics, and configure those options . I doubt this could take him long....

Hm, I'm not liking the suggested sub-forums. That seems to be what those sections themselves are for in the first place

I disagree... Most of those things are what makes those sections very messy... I mean, duels are stuff are good while you are getting prepared for one competence... once the competence is over, the whole topic is useless... All those section could be used for discussions about technics, good games, etc. The other stuff would get forgotten in the archive anyway, so I think that putting it aside and making it get deleted (or self locked) is the best option. More for the sprite section, which gets pretty "SPAMMED" by minor sprite works and ocuppies space which could be used for "galleries"

1 ; The fact that those sections are messy has nothing to do with the lack of subsections... It's because the high % of morons. 2 : s***, man, people are posting SPRITES in the SPRITE section? Someone call Channel Five!

1) No it doesn't. Sometimes, people post stuff (like "some want to play <SOME GAME> with me?") because they don't have anywhere to post it... Having subsections would be usefull to post that stuff which we want to post (there is no reason why we should not post it), but we don't want to keep. 2) And if you ever went to the sprites section, you'd know what the hell I'm talking about. What you just said is like saying that the creation of topics like this one(link) should be allowed inside the "Super smash flash section" because they are "Super smash ideas". (Because it has something to do with the section, does not mean it's good for it) I mean, the idea of the sprite section is not JUST to post sprite... if it were, then I would just post my sprites in pages like "imageShack", and wait for people to see it. The main objective of the sprite section is to create sprites sheets, galleries, post stuff, ask for advices, look up for sheets done by other people, etc.
But the thing is that sometimes you need to ask for a little advice about a little sprite you have just made, and there is no real place to do that. So, people create posts which are no longer usefull after recieving 2 or 3 answers.... Those kind of topics saturate the section. (The same goes for spritesheets done by other people)
So if you know little about the sprite section, don't try to talk about it and look smart, ok?

( sorry for double posting, but I've got something new to say, and t's been a LONG while since I last posted ) As you two said before (Hakker & Cleod), those sections are usually used for... but that's exactly what I want to avoid here. Those things are very, VERY usefull for the users, so forbidden them would be ridiculus and harmfull for the forum. But at the sametime, they saturate the sections which information which gets 100% useless after a couple of days. So, I would want people to know that this things have less priority than other stuff... An Old sprite fixing request topic had probably been usefull the first 2 days, but it has also been forgotten after that; so in the end, all it does is just occupate usefull space, which makes the finding of other stuff much more difficult. (such as a gallery)So, to kill 2 birds with one stone, you could have a special place for those kinds of posts (and recieve all the "usefull-ness they have"); but giving them a short-life-period (to make them get deleted once they start to bother).

Are you kidding me?
I'm not even going to bother with this, it's a ridiculous idea that'll end up splitting sections a crapload for no reason at all, ESPECIALLY the PC/console gaming and General flash ones.

Man, Calm down! They are going to be subsection, not whole different section. Besides, the main idea is to avoid this sections to get full of things which are not going to be USEFULL ever again. Probably you just don't care because you never go in the sections I'm talking about, but if you did, you'll see that this idea is pretty handy. ps: Also, if sections should not be splitted, then there should not be a section or subsections for: - "RP Character Bios"
- "RP general discussion"
because everything could be inside one section, the "RPG" section... If they are splitted, it is because that way they are better organized... well, the same happens in here. The way it is right now is not "bad"... but by splitting them (creating subsections), they could be a lot better organized.
