Excuse me?

We lynched the person who seemed like they were scum. We shouldn't "reconsider" anything. The person we lynch should consider playing better.

You're essentially saying "don't lynch anyone, they could be town!". Do you have any idea how ridiculous that sounds?

Oh my god QFT x1000

Terra's play was nauseatingly bad. Super sketchy, hardly followed up on anything and relied WAY too much on "meta" for his own good. They all point toward scum tells. It wasn't the town's fault.

No, I'm not saying don't lynch anyone (Don't put words into my mouth -.-), I'm saying that take some caution before committing into a lynch. We barely had any evidence pointing that Terra was scum, and we ended up lynching a townie. All we really had was him screwing up, and then everyone jumped on his case, and only a few people actually came up with a good reason to lynch him. Besides, usually Day 1 lynchings end up with a townie being lynched due to someone saying/doing something stupid and not enough evidence is presented so people just go "oh, let's bandwagon and lynch him".

Yeah, his play might have been bad, but I don't blame him. there was barely any evidence to pass around, and out of everyone who voted/hammered him, (From my PoV) only a few people explained a reason. Besides, not everyone can get to a computer everyday.

Also, they all pointed scum tells most likely due to lack of evidence and the fact that a lot of people started to bandwagon towards the end.

Welcome to a typical Day 1, where 9 times out of 10, the townie that slips and makes a mistake gets lynched.

We are pretty much focused about this situation with Terra and yeah, going by a meta is pretty obtuse, but the few who havent made a decision yet on who to vote should read through on both sides of the situation so that hopefully the town doesn't make a bad decision. If it comes down to lynching Terra, then so be it.

Question: How many people (Especially the ones who hammered Terra) actually went through the topic and read everything on both sides of the situation?

Anyways, I'll have my updated reads on everyone here soon.

Coming from one of the people that was sorta on Terra's side in the beginning (I thought he may have misspoke or something), it was his refusal to defend/explain himself and his accusations without any sort of evidence that got him my vote.

I read through everything. A total lack of effort when defending yourself is not something I consider town-like.

Lynching Terra was completely justified. However, it's been undone. There's no point in arguing about it.

You didn't seem so against it when the attentino was being placed on you.

Okay, a few quick reactions to this while I have time:

1.) Yes, Terra was telling the truth, but his playstyle was horribly scummy.

2.) "Reconsider who we decide to hammer next time" Is basically saying "If it seems like they're scum, then let's not lynch them!"

3.) Yes, we should take caution.

That is understandable Kyuubit. and yeah, good point.

When attention was placed on me, I figured that it was just Terra cracking under pressure because he probably felt that one was on his side. That quote wasn't me saying "Hey, let's go lynch Terra!", it was just a reply to Shoop.

Okay, a few quick reactions to this while I have time:

1.) Yes, Terra was telling the truth, but his playstyle was horribly scummy. Agreed.

2.) "Reconsider who we decide to hammer next time" Is basically saying "If it seems like they're scum, then let's not lynch them!" That does not mean that, it means just take some caution when we are lynching so we don't end up losing townies left and right. My bad on that quote...Just realized that reconsider wasn't really good word choice.

3.) Yes, we should take caution. Mhm.

Comments in bold.

First, most of the time we "barely have evidence" on any lynch. That's how Mafia works: the guys having the actual information are the ones we want to get rid of. Second, what's "evidence"? Easily alterable ability results? Easily falsifiable claims?

Well, I'd like to bring you some information:
MG Mafia V: Town mislynch Day 1, Mafia Victory. Mafia actually pulled a comeback here.
MG Mafia VII: Third Party lynch Day 1, Mafia Victory. Perfect Mafia victory.
MG Mafia VIII: Town mislynch Day 1, Mafia Victory. One mafia member was the only survivor.
MG Mafia IX: Third Party victory, Town victory. Fault mechanics allowed this.
MG Mafia X: No lynch Day 1, Town victory. Inactivity-based victory.
MG Mafia XI: No lynch Day 1, Town victory. I SHOULD HAVE WON
MG Mafia XII: No lynch Day 1, Third Party victory.
MG Mafia XIII: MAFIA lynch day 1, Mafia victory.
MG Mafia XV: No lynch day 1, Mafia victory.
MG Mafia XVI: No lynch day 1, Mafia victory.

Only 2 times out of 10, we have lynched town players. While it's true than Mafia won both of those games, it is noticeable than a no lynch Day 1 isn't correlated to town victories (in particular, the last two games had no lynches day 1 and MAFIA victories). Even further, Mafia has managed to win at least one game where a mafia player was lynched at Day 1.

So you are coming with faulty numbers to prove your point. And going back to my "evidence" thing, playstyle constitues evidence. Just check MG Mafia XV where Terra player awfully similar to today, and he was scum.
(Disclaimer: Mg Mafia 6 was not included for being town vs town. Mg Mafia XIV was not included because the moderator was messing too much with the setup).

Which "both" sides? Terra was barely doing anything for himself!

@Thomas, yeah, you didn't say "hey we should lynch terra" but it was clearly against him. You say yourself you thought he was cracking, now today you're all "wow what the hell guys I said be more cautious"

Please start playing. We cannot afford to lynch every inactive player.

Requesting MG PM + Skype IM prod on Terra please

Thomas I'd like to kindly request that you rephrase your first Day 2 post in a way that makes it excessively clear what you meant.
