Sword is really boring design wise, you need to add more pizzaz.

One thing I just noticed is that the handle kind looks like a dick by the way you shaded it

I was passing through and saw this blunder. Pillow shading is not just shading from a central light source, pillow shading is when one attempts to shade by fading to a light/dark palette around the edges, ignoring cast shadows and overlap between otherwise separate objects.

Pillow shading is much analogous to using a bevel in Photoshop. It doesn't convey form so much as simply extruding the object in space, in many cases regarding separate parts of the same object as individual objects, leading to ugly divisive results. And the sprite you commented on is a perfect example of such a mistake.
