How about key assigning menu? Like in ssf2, you can change the controls.

You can try here, Chad And Todd cast. There a pair of brothers that know everything about flash and AS1, AS2, & AS3. You can send them a request and they'll reply in the form of a podcast. I sugest asking Todd since he is an flash game expert.

Does this really still need to be stickied? X2i is never here any more and the tutorials are REALLY outdated. He's using an old old version of flash and it's in Actionscript 2, not 3.
