It is spammy and not very useful, but I kept it as is because it isn't on an account I use too much.
Now, think you have to wait for a week, sometimes a month, to know why you were banned (when you can't figure it out). You can't even explain yourself (assuming you are right).
And it seems like people can't see if you are banned. You know, someone might PM you (not a big deal but still).
