I'm pulling for some continuity fan-service in the costume department, more versitility and less just alternate colors.
IE each Animal Crossing Villager would look completly different, maybe even some are girls, Link could have costumes based on older game's models (though Skyward Sword already looks a hundred times better than the Twilight Princess one did), maybe a Mega Man X costume, those kinda things that contribute to feeling like you have a lot to work with without them necessarily being seperate characters.

Well, Mii would be interesting, but with WiiFit Trainer and Villager already, it would not has the uniqueness that the other two already shown that Mii could have used on a possible moveset, but who knows, maybe lord Sakurai will illuminate us again with something cool.

It's more in-touch with his source material if you ask me. He definetly felt more 'monstrous' in previous Smash games, as opposed to how comically he is actually portrayed in the Mario franchise.
