If you dont want to spend another $200 on a 3DS XL, cant you trade in your original 3DS and only have to pay like $30 or $40?

The 3DS XL isn't targetted at those who already have a 3DS, so probably not.

ReallY? Nintendo [of America] says the contrary on Facebook:
Nintendo wrote:
When you upgrade to a Nintendo 3DS XL you can easily transfer stored data from your Nintendo 3DS to your new system.

There's a difference between having a target audience and a feature for those who buy the new one while having the old one.

So, how exactly would the transfer be done? Would we have to put our SD Card into the XL to bring all of our stuff there, or is there another way?

But as you can see, Nintendo is also encouraging those who already have a 3DS to get a 3DS XL.

@Equinox: You can tranfer data from the concole settings of the 3DS, there is a tranfering option.

No, they're providing options for the few people who do decide to buy an XL in addition to their current.

In no way are they encouraging current 3DS owners to purchase the XL or even suggesting that it's an improved model.

Yeah there was a notification that it would be out of order for a day, not too long ago.

Speaking of the eShop, is there any way to copy games between two 3DS's? My brother also has a 3DS, but the problem is, I have over $60 in downloaded games, so he won't be able to easily repurchase everything I've got. And there is no way in hell I'm lending my console to him.

Transfer the games onto an SD card.

Other then that, I don't know.

They didn't let that fly on the Wii, I doubt that it'll fly on here.

Just saying.

O.K. Did anybody else get a 3ds system update today besides me? Yes my system has been updated before and make folders. Still trying to figure out what it does. I looked it up, and there was absolutely nothing about it! /:|
