Well I mean it makes sense for the Bomb to hurt Sandbag considering it's a Bomb
But luckily if Sandbag uses it as a Kamikaze, it only deals the damage a normal Bob-Omb does in 0.9b
If he uses it just for recovery, it apparently deals less damage

First of all, hi, I hope I won't necro this thread too much

Secondly, I am really glad with what's happening regarding the Sandbag's development, I am still a bit concerned, but it's one of few 'joke characters' that can actually work pretty well.

There's a reason for that though. Example of a bad 'joke character' would be Weegee from Crusade (Game I didn't play much, so I don't speak from that big of experience). Entirety of Weegee is a one big 'joke'... and that's all he is. A meme. Joke with no substance or character for that reason. It's not unique, it's lazy and you will only get few laughs before you forget that it exists.

Sandbag on other hand, for such a simple 'joke', it got some time and effort put to him. It plays differently and taking away ledge grabbing - one of the most important Smash mechanics - away from it in exchange for power is such an interesting mechanic that it makes me wonder why Namco hasn't done that before.

I've been also always thinking about Sandbag as a character ever since the SSF2 development began so... that might be just my thing. I dunno' I just like these meta and out of the box characters as long as they are interesting and well fleshed out :gameandwatch:
He reminds of Fuuka from Skullgirls in that regard

On the competitive side of him (I am not a competitive Smash player by no means, so these are just assumptions) he will be interesting to play as. The characters that can cancel entirety of his air play will counter him hard, otherwise, I want to see if he will be banned and if not, I wanna see every tournament with him ever.

Hopefuly devs will check Sandbag at least 'sometimes'. They don't need to focus their work on him as they do with Isaac and other important Beta features, but given the feedback, Sandbag already is one of the most hypeful things that are going to happen in Beta for some people. I mean how crazy is that?

Excuse me guys but do any of you wonder exactly HOW Sandbag's going to be unlocked in the upcoming SSF2 Beta AND the full game?

Personally, I speculate 3 methods:

1) You'll need to reach a set distance in the H.R.C. that might be almost IMPOSSIBLE to reach under normal circumstances, like 2000, 3000, etc.
2) Play as every character in H.R.C., and everyone's high score must equal a set total high score.
3) Play in every mode (not including Online) which involves Sandbag at least once. (i.e. H.R.C., Sandbag Soccer, etc.)

if ganondorf was in, 3000 would be easy
