Honestly, I was expecting Luffy to be a little different.


I expected his hit box to be extended when stretching and it made sense too. His standard attack is better than I expected, his upward smash is good, and his down special move was what I expected but that's about it.

I was hoping that his moves were like this:
Upward Smash - The foot also comes down
Downward Smash - Whip which has a range
Forward Smash - Pistol or Bazooka
Dash Attack - is decent, but I expected Bullet
Standard Special Move - a grab, but you can charge to extend it
Side Special Move - Bazooka or Rifle you can charge
Up Special Move - I don't know, but I guess the current one should have more range (I guess?)

And Luffy should be a little bit faster and have better recovery.

Maybe I'm complaining too much and that I'm a little obsessive when it comes to OP but I expected at least half of this on Luffy.
Hopefully they change some of his moves to be more fluid, faster, and more satisfying.

I was expecting something about canon but this was actually a decent buff list for Luffs

Also, Up Smash having a downwards attack when pressing the attack button (akin to Link's, I guess) seems nice... although that'd have godlike range

But a chargeable Side-B seems like a nice idea just to separate it from Neutral-B slightly more

Another character suggestion here, I thought it would be cool if Luffy does a Gum Gum Red Hawk when he does a fully charged F-smash.

Something like this, but with his pink Gear 2nd skin too.


Obviously it shouldn't be as overpowered as it may look, but it would definitely give the move a bit more style and layers. Kind of like Black Mage's smash attacks, but just F-smash though.

Was Kinda Hoping not ALL of his Moves were Command grabs. Maybe Incorporate other parts of his Moveset? I Like His DSpecial and U Special though, Those Two are Fine, and Even his Neutral. Its mainly His Side Special.

I like him nonetheless

Luffy still feels pretty bad. He needs more than grabs being more reliable and an Fsmash that isn't worthless to make him good.

The one thing I want to see Luffy for the new update, is what will his new final smash would be?

I think Luffy might be the worst this time around, because even tho they buffed grabs and luffy he still feels the same, and his grabs are still too laggy and punishable.

Nah. Sandbag is way worse.

But Sandbag I feel is the exact same with minor buffs, and he was a mid tier okay, so I feel he will stay a mid tier. But Luffy was already a bottom tier and got no buffs. I think that makes him the worst.

But also most of the characters worse or on a similar level as Sandbag got buffed to be better than Sandbag, and the characters who were better didn't get nerfed hard enough to be below him. And also, he wasn't even a mid-tier character to begin with.

He is still a mid tier imo because he does well against Pichu, Luffy, Jigglypuff, Game and Watch, and Kirby. And he does okay against Tails, Marth, Zelda, Naruto, Bandana Dee, and Sora.
