Because the only solid ground is a big sloped platform and that sucks
Because said platform is a walkoff platform and that's worse
Because the walkoff area is still sloped and that just makes me upset
Because the leaves in the center dip around and I don't like that because I hate fun
Because when it starts raining you can't even use the sloped platform and I don't like that hazard at all
Because the layout in general is really weird and I just don't like it
Because most of the music on the stage isn't very good (with Ai no Uta being a huge exception)

But most importantly, because I don't like it very much

Wow, you didn't even mention the Bulborb.

The bulborb might not bother me so much on a stage with a better layout

I mean, it just kind of is there. I don't have any opinions on it

I dont like Port Town Aero Dive, because no grabable ledges on the main platform, Racers deal extreme knockback, and the racetrack itself hurts. It feels like the entire stage is a hazard.

Let's just say that brawl has several bad stages and leave it at that.
I personally prefer stages that don't have hazards that can kill you, I think that fighting and dying from someone else using skill is fair and a background gimmick that nobody has control over isn't.

Normally I disagree with that heavily but I've noticed two things lately

1) Brawl doesn't have any stages I would consider among my series-wide favorites
2) Almost every Brawl stage involves some sort of gimmick

Conclusion: Sometimes simpler stages are just better. I still love the DK and Zelda 64 stages more than anything in Brawl.

I hope the Halberd returns, literally the most bearable and my favorite Brawl stage to play on tbch.

I actually didn't like Halberd - I thought a different Kirby stage could've repped the series better, preferrable one with Kirby, not Meta Knight, in mind.

I hated that Dream Land 64 and Fountain of Dreams were removed in brawl because I like those stages. I do in a way like Delfino Plaza, Smashville and Yoshi's Island were good stages. I miss Mute City from Melee mostly due to the music.

That's what I tend to hear when playing with a group of people. But I disagree, as long as it's not a 1 vs 1 match and you're playing with 3-4 people, who cares if the stage has gimmicks like that? Imo it's nice to change it up a bit, so those stages make the game more enjoyable.

Same with items.

Also, your death may not have resulted from the opponents skill, but it happened due to your lack of skill. It's your own fault if you keep dying from the same gimmick (which they are always the same, so after some time they should be easily avoidable).

As long as there's a decent amount of neutral stages to choose from too, then who cares?

Hazards may always be the same, but they happen at random, and not exactly easy to dodge in some instances, especially if you're focused on a fight.

Like which ones? They almost always give you a warning. (alert before the cars in Onett & Mario circuit, before the stage flips in frigate orpheon, before the tornado on the pirate ship, etc.) Which ones happen at random?
