I nominate Hanaj, if only for his 2nd place finish at the biggest SSF2 tournament of all time.

I really like the idea of invintationals, but I gotta ask: What the f*** is this stagelist? Colisseum as a counterpick but BF/DL and FD/ToS for starters? And what about virtually any other stage? Dracs, Yoshis, Castle Siege, RR and whatnot? This is s***. Ranting aside, Im seconding Marving, also for obvious reasons. Nominating Drarky because hes awesome EDIT: Who falls under "low tier" for you? Imo its kinda iffy to make those kinds of event this early when people dont even agree on half the cast.

We'll have decided on what is considered a low tier based on our general consensus, and as far as the stagelist goes, it was a generally agreed upon stagelist by the NSB members, who decided that the other stages weren't fit for it(DC, SSZ, RR, Saturn, WW, etc).
While we're here I second vash because he's busted.

And what exactly makes all the other stages unfit for competitive play? And how did Colosseum end up as the sole counterpick, espcially with double BF and double FD as starters? Its propably the most neutral stage in the game. Im actually hella curious on this one.
Regarding lowtiers, there is no general consensus. Unless its gonna be an NSB exclusive thing, and, no offense, but that stagelist kinda makes me doubtful of who youre gonna put in low tier if Im being honest.

I have to agree with Skylar here. If there is an argument to be made, I'd like to hear it, but I'm completely baffled right now. No pun intended, for those who know my username on most sites.
It seems you're mostly taking a strictly traditionalist approach, but not exactly?

We spent most of this morning discussing what would be considered low tiers, and our final creation was this. https://images.discordapp.net/attachmen ... JkEAaE.pngC Tier and below is considered low tier. As for stages go, just because our crew has a different opinion of the BR doesn't mean anything. This should also be considered: the fact that NSB is consistently placing well at tournaments and is one of the most competitive SSF2 Crews. I think our opinion can be seen as somewhat decent.

That's not what we're asking. We just want to know what your specific arguments are.
We're really not that exclusionary. We may very well take your opinions into consideration if you can convincingly back them up.
In fact, at this stage of the meta (being its infancy and all), a wide variety of opinions and arguments from different people is desperately needed at the moment.
Don't forget how long we pored over your v0.9b BR application. We weren't just forgetting about it all that time; we really were having trouble deciding. Just because you didn't get in in the end doesn't mean we're completely discounting you as a source or anything like that.

Do we even have enough of a meta for low-tiers to mean anything other than "some dudes at NSB say that, whatever"? If you, right now, polled all of the top players and BR members and whatnot, and got each one of them to make a tier list, do you think they would agree very much on anything? I highly doubt it; at least, for me, I disagree with a ton of your choices.
Also gonna agree with Skylar over the stagelist being way too conservative. Isn't the stagelist more diverse and more enjoyable if you add stages with some variance and interest, stages that force players to navigate different types of environments? Isn't playing on a stage with a slant, or on a stage with an inverted tri-plat layout, and so on, something that should be recognized as part of being skillful?
Other than that, I nominate Sorabotics for being a god.

In response to whatever you said harr, its not that, my BR app had nothing to do with this. If you want you can DM flavien over discord and he'll tell you our main argument. TL:DR our argument is that certain stages such as saturn valley can give too much of an advantage to certain characters in the cast, where having a more neutral stagelist would make things more balanced. Most of the argument is the fact that you can win neutral however much you want and then lose based on one of the stranger stages being counterpicked. While this is true, I also disagree with the fact that yoshi's isn't on the stagelist, but I didn't make it. I can see the argument for yoshi's being lag issues. But the main point is that those counterpicks can heavily swing the match. Before you say, "isn't that what counterpicks are supposed to do?" Yes, counterpicks are meant to benefit the counterpicking player. However, the stages not on our stagelist were considered too slanting(not a pun). However I can see TCS's argument on how learning to play on those stages would be a sign of skill. At this point, however, we dont plan on changing the stagelist anytime soon.
Regarding the tier list, it wasn't just a couple of players. We asked most of NSB, considering different players of different characters, and we averaged the lower tiers based off that. If you want the pure methodology of it we basically voted on which tier each character fell into, then after we all made our own tier lists. and finally we averaged the results from there. This is pretty efficient considering player bias. And of course, players will disagree. Even when we were voting on the characters in creation of the tier list, we disagreed a lot. The point was to discuss it all together and then mix our discussion with our own opinions and bias. Different people will create different opinions, and our tier list changed a lot from there. And honestly, most of us aren't very fond of the BR stagelist either. (You know which stage we're talking about).
All things considered, I would consider NSB a pretty reliable source(Literally 10 players out of the top 20 on the FCR? Wins at every single major tourney?) NSB also has all the top players that are active in public right now, besides like 4-5 other consistently top placing players.
Also I second Sorabotics because he's the GOAT luffy.
