Kept up with this little project over the year. Any favorites? Any least favorites?

I listened to most of my 2016 list this year. My favorites were Blackstar, Splendor and Misery, Starboy, Bottomless Pit and Glass Animals' How to Be a Human Being.

Of the 2017 records I got to this year, my favorites are:

BROCKHAMPTON - SATURATION II
The Mountain Goats - Goths
Guerilla Toss - GT Ultra

I'll get back to you this time next year, after I've gone through my 30-something 2017 albums, with a post about how few 2018 albums I listened to

Here are some single songs from 2017 I love:

Bedwetter - "Man Wearing a Helmet".
BROCKHAMPTON - "QUEER"
Clipping - "The Deep"
Guerilla Toss - "Skull Pop"
Jay-Z - "The Story of O.J."
Kendrick Lamar - "Humble"
Kesha - "Praying"
Mastodon - "Toe to Toes"
The Mountain Goats - "Rain in Soho"
Niel Cicierega - "T.I.M.E."
Open Mike Eagle - "Brick Body Complex"
Portugal. The Man - "Feel It Still"
Sampha - "Blood On Me"

After the Party had replay value spanning over the entire year for me, loved it.

XO Tour Life is honestly good and even if I can't take him seriously and his lyrics are dumb most of the time, even in the song, the way he sings the chorus is honestly filled with emotion

The Wild Feathers: This was a new discovery for me this week. Currently only listened to their first album Greetings From the Neon Frontier. I've really been feeling a country rock/roots rock vibe so far in 2019. I haven't even been able to finish the album because I've been so focused on the first 4 tracks.

so far i've listened to like 60 albums this year and none of them have really been below a 7, so it's been a good year. some of the standouts however, have been:

He Is Legend - White Bat
pretty straightforward metal with a rob zombie-esque horror vibe and rolled around in some southern mud for good measure. not much of a thinker but it's a lot of fun; i don't think i've gone a day without hearing the chorus of "I'LL BE YOUR BOOGIEWOMAN IF YOU'LL BE MY BOOGIEMAAAAN" in my head

SeeYouSpaceCowboy - The Correlation Between Entrance And Exit Wounds
grindcore. less spastic then Songs For The Firing Squad but still very heavy with a lot of heart & energy. the last 40 seconds of With High Hopes And Clipped Wings nearly brought me to tears the first time i heard it but i'll chalk that up to me being an enormous b****

Baroness - Gold & Grey
despite maybe having one of the worst production jobs in recent memory (LOUDNESS WAR, BABY), I'm still a huge sucker for Baroness and enjoyed the s*** out of this. baizley also remains one of my favourite artists; the cover for this album is immaculate

Blaqk Audio - Only Things We Love
the synthpop side project of Davey and Jade from AFI. catchy as all f***. definite Depeche Mode influence on some tracks. good times

Hellripper - Black Arts & Alchemy EP
HOLY
f***
RIFFS dude

Phoenix by Breaking Point. Can't beat the classics, even if Dragon Ball's involved.

Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge is the best anime film of all time. Admit it.
