Name: Sasaki Mitsuki
Age: 22
Fighting Style: She is well accomplished in the art of tessenjutsu and her shinto upbringing has allowed her to become well versed in the mystic arts and she may incorporate talismans evoking the elements of wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.
Weapon: Two war fans constructed of metal bindings and painted pink to give the appearance of regular fans as well as give the name to her weapons. "Dancing sakura kisses bring forth blood"
Present Appearance: Mitsuki's hair is a dark red bordering auburn in colour tied with a white band producing a long ponytail. Her eyes are brown, a lively expression seemingly emanating from them. Her complexion is fair, having spent more days indoors than out while in her youth. Her body is slim and delicate though toned through training. She wears a furisode kimono which is sky blue and depicts a blossoming tree on it. Due to her long sleeves, she is able to hide both her metal war fans which hang from each of her wrists. Despite what one may believe by simply looking at her clothing, she can move quickly with her kimono on. A light green obi with decorative pink petals is tied into a neat bow around her waist. On her feet she wears white jika-tabi which allows her quick and agile movement after she kicks off her zori.
Why your character would survive the initial onslaught of monstrosities:
Mitsuki, after being discovered by the miko Akane at the steps of the temple, has spent her entire childhood there. As such, she was preserved by the holy presence that repelled the repulsive Yure, who seemed to wreak havoc as soon as the sun set when night fell over the land. In fact, the first thing she learned how to do concerning the mystic arts involved the evoking of seals that exorcised evil spirits, which is probably the main reason why Mitsuki is alive today. Of course, due to the militaristic nature of the Shokun Empire she was required to know more than a few "magic tricks" as the skeptical district shogun liked to call them, and so she was required to pick up a weapon and learn to fight. After a series of trials she stuck to the war fan seeing as her heart seemed to harmonize with the weapon producing effects worthy of a Weh no Su. A label that had followed her since her birth, indicated by a lotus blossom on each of her arms. Her indomitable spirit however is the key to her preservation, for without her perseverance she would have succumbed to the darkness that seemed to be everywhere.

Name: Lei Fu Hai
Age: 29
Fighting Style: Besides his prowess with the rope dart, Fu Hai is capable in Yingzhaoquan (Eagle Claw Style), though he is not nearly masterful enough to rely on it. He has also taken body hardening training enough to render average unarmed attacks useless.
Weapon: A rope dart where the dart takes the form of a large, pointed rod attached to four rings that have a squarish shape, and finally attached to a fine chain knotted into a handle at the end. The small flags on the dart had lost their original color; they are now starchy and dark red. It has a name, though he doesn't bother to tell anyone: Chilling Rain in the lightless night.
Present Appearance: Fu Hai is almost always a head or so taller than someone, which may make him stand out. His hair is dark orange (Makes no sense in reality) and almost considered short, the back of his hair never goes past his ears and his bangs never reach his eyes, but his side burns are extremely long in contrast where they almost reach his neck without losing any thickness downwards. He has thin eyebrows, distant eyes and relatively tiny black pupils, which together can easily create a menacing look if he feels like it. His muscles do not increase his size, but they still make him look more intimidating than a skinny man; small but numerable scars along his entire body and a few on his face become more noticeable with his surprisingly light skin, but he is not pale. His hands could be mistaken for a girl's, though his feet are large and undoubtedly a man's. For his clothing, he wears a flexible dark red cloth robe outlined in black in the neckline, sleeves and waist tied with a black belt. Underneath are white pants and large brown shoes that reach his shins.
Why your character would survive the initial onslaught of monstrosities:
Having grown up with very small support from his family, Fu Hai is more than capable of taking care of himself. His use of his Chilling Rain allows him to fend off small amounts Yure with no problem, and he is able to slowly eliminate them one by one. When he is successfully attacked by a claw of one, which is rare to begin with, they will not dig very deep into his body, and he is able to ignore it and continue at close range with his knowledge of Yingzhaoquan, where he is just fast enough to confuse stupid Yure as he pummels them. He has never been seen frightened or even intimidated, but he will know when to switch strategies and use more cowardly methods to attack; pride meant nothing to him if he were dead. Despite how he seems, he can cooperate with others and won't do anything where he has less than if chance of survival.

Name: Li Tsu "Lard" Zhang
Age: 36
Fighting Style: Style? You're probably thinking of someone else. Li Tsu swings his hammer around with the grace of an anvil crushing anyone slow enough not to run away. That said, he is incredibly competent at tiě shān and is capable of creating incredibly powerful explosives.
Weapons: He usually uses a giant war hammer, but he will also carry a sword for practicality's sake or for intimidation. He also carries, to deal with those annoying fast people, a blowgun carrying nerve inhibitor for when he deems the opponent too fast for his liking.
Present Appearance: Li Tsu is a brute of a man, standing over six feet tall and weighing over 120kg. He has very short dark hair for comfort and practicality although this cannot be seen under the cover of a full headed helmet helmet with slits only for breathing and vision that he wears most of the time. Within this helmet only his two, bright eyes, small and beady are visible, forever sparkling. Upon the removal of this helmet is a tanned, undamaged face, free from scars or remnants of broken bones. His face is alway smiling and carefree, cheery in spite of the state of the world. Removing more of the full-bodied armour he dons, one would discover a large, hairless and shapeless body with a streak of eczema running along the bottom of his neck, quite probably a result of donning armour for so long. The only other thing worthy of notice is a tattoo covering the whole of the sole of his feet that showing the placing of all the bones within, trademark of his family.
Why your character would survive the initial onslaught of monstrosities: He, in short, is a tank. He can take pretty much every hit aimed at him and barely recoil. Thus, just about the only thing that could kill him would be a very well aimed arrow to the eye (and he has to be watching it for it to reach his brain) or one through the gap between his helmet and the armour on his torso.
Why your character is not cheap enough to be the one picked on by Thai: The armor can still be taken off: it is held together with leather straps and hooks which can still be cut or removed in some other way. The helmet for example is held on merely by five leather straps. In addition to this, the helmet must be removed in order to use the blowpipe. Regarding the explosives, they are too unstable to make beforehand and pull out halfway through a fight. They must be used straight after they are made (with about a 20 window) and thus are only useful for the start of a fight and are useless when dealing with surprise attacks and long battles.

Name: Yamada Taro
Age: 28
Fighting Style: He has no real fighting style, but he rather just goes with the flow of things. In fact, if asked, he would probably answer with 'The Flow'... what a weirdo.
Weapon: A dagger that looks (somewhat) like a short katana, with a red hilt and guard, and a katana-like blade. Its name is 'Silver Lightning through dark, ashy cloud.'
Present Appearance: Taro is a man of avarage height, with a skinny build. His dark brown hair is messy,covering his ears, and he has a short goatee on his chin. His eyes, like his hair, are brown, and, though he is usually very carefree, are very capable of giving off a serious look, the kind that would easily tell anyone that 'this is no laughing matter'. He wears a red, long-sleeved top, the front tied shut with black laces, matching pants covering his legs. He wears geta sandles, and his weapon is held to his waist with a red sheath and cloth.
Why your character would survive the initial onslaught of monstrosities: Taro is a very quick thinker that had quickly realized the weak point of the beasts, and he, being very quick, managed to get behind any monsters that came his way and stab them in the back with the Silver Lightning. Another note is that said dagger can extend its blade to three times Taro's height (well, not exactly, but you get the point). This made stabbing quite lethal, you see. He is very nimble, and, due to his dagger, able to keep enemies away from him when needed. He also noticed that being near holy grounds was the safest thing to do.
Why your character is not cheap enough to be the one picked on by Thai: First off, unlike DVDV's character, this one is not a tank in the least. Just a few hits and he'd either be dead or unconscious, in the latter case free to have the guts ripped out of him by whatever he was fighting. Second, in Silver Lightning's fully extended form, it is very heavy, and thus he will only extend it too far for a split second as otherwise it would be too heavy to lift.

Name: Ryouichi Zanji
Age: 34
Fighting Style: Zanji is well trained in Naginatajustsu and a bit of additional skill in Kendo
Weapon: Zanji wields a naginata which stands at the height of an average human. He calls it “Golden Sky Above the Heavens”. The blade is crescent shaped and gradually thickens as it reaches the end. A shining golden dragon sits along both sides of the blade. When swung quickly enough, it creates the illusion that the blade glows with a golden shine.
Present Appearance: Zanji stands taller than an average man but in no means a giant. When he is out of his traditional samurai armour, he wears dark grey, one piece kimono, with baggy pants. His armour is dark grey in colour with a golden yellow trim along the edges. He chooses not to wear a face mask because it obstructs his vision.
Why your character would survive the initial onslaught of monstrosities: Zanji enrolled in the army at the age of 15. Initially, he got taught Kendo, but then later learned naginatajutsu. He stuck with the naginata over the katana for most of his time serving for the army. He adapted the ability to “ghost” his blade when swung at will. The blade just becomes a glowing light that can pass through solid objects. The blade cannot solidify during mid swing, only when it comes to a complete stop. Zanji uses this more to play mind games with his enemies rather than passing defences. After serving in the army for a good 10 years, Zanji one day got knocked straight off horseback during training and injured his head, resulting in a concussion and a coma for a week. In this week, the general took Zanji out of the army over some younger troops. Zanji still kept his combat skills and his armour, but prefers to stay at home.
