This probably the plot of the next movie it could be a possible spoiler and for that reason I am treating it as such. Starscream escapes and collects a new hoard of Decepticons to fight the Autobots and get the Allspark.

The allspark is gone, it was destroyed to kill Megatron. Sure, there's a little shard left, but it's probably useless. It's called revenge of the fallen because that's all they're after: Revenge. Sam and the Autobots humiliated them. In front of humans. And then killed their leader. You'd want revenge too. _________________

You'd be even more pissed if he died by getting shot with a missile, so stop crying. In fact, there's no "non-retarded" way for Megatron to die, even if Prime himself killed him.
Besides, that was a smart move on Sam's part. Prime telling him to use him to destroy the cube, and he has the rationality to take Prime's advice and use it on Megatron.
