Speaking about expansion characters... How exactly would it work though? Spriting's not the problem here, but rather how the characters are programmed.

I think they'll be programmed like all the other characters were, and read by the game in an extra file.

Doubt it. For Glory mode is actually really unpopular (though I get why, I don't agree with it). He will be in v0.9c. That's not speculation, that's confirmed fact.

I don't remember where I read this, and I don't know if it's true, but it said that "all characters in the current demo and every demo before 1.0 will be starters in 1.0. New characters, or veterans from the official Smash titles, will be unlockable and not present in any demo before that."
