SSB had 9 stages, unless including the two beta stages, Metal Mario stage, Final Destination, Battlefield, and the 12 characters' target smashes/board the platforms. Also Race to the Finish. That makes 32 'stages'. SSB also had 12 characters, unless including the fighting polygon team along with Master Hand and Metal Mario. Then that brought it up to about 17.

Melee had 26 characters, unless counting Giga Bowser, Master Hand, Crazy Hand, and both Wire Frames. Then they had about 30. Melee had 29 stages, but then let's count the 26 target smashes, the Race to the Finish, and the 10 or so Adventure Stages. That makes about 65. I dunno how long it took to develop this but it was released about 2 years after SSB.

Brawl has 36 or 39 characters, unless including Wario Man, Giga Bowser, the four Alloys, both hands, and all 8 other bosses. This made about 50-53 characters. If I remember correctly, there are 40 stages, but then we have the entire Subspace Emissary and the 5 difficulty levels for Target Smash. I refuse to calculate this. >_> But this took quite a few years.

This is quite a lot to do on its own, and I didn't include any extra modes and such. Imagine how much more that there would be, seeing as the growth of the series was already dramatic as it is.

You shouldn't count the alloys, meshes or polygons as characters because they use the same model data as the characters they copy. Master Hand and Crazy Hand don't have full movesets and are much, much easier to animate. But yeah, you're on point otherwise.

Ah, I was unsure as to that, because if you use SSB's debug or something like that, you can change the characters to be the Polygon Team so I assumed they had seperate data altogether despite their (extremely large) similarities.
But, even then, we have to take in account the enemies in Adventure/SSE, trophies, stickers (Which I'd assume are relatively easy), and the battle engine as a whole.

It's being developed by Namco.

In a good way or a bad way? Because, honestly? I'm happy about it. Why?

Why can't they just stick to Hal Labs? They've always done Smash bros. very well. Why change it now?

my school laptops antivirus program detected a virus from that site - granted it's faronics but now plenty of things that would imply malicious activity are happening as well
don't click that f*** link

assuming this is true
most likely nintendo was angry about how the entire cast played second fiddle to kirby in brawls story mode

So, does this almost confirm that we'll be seeing pacman or Lloyd/Cless/Yuri in the game?

I think it's a safe assumption, but IMO I think only Pac-Man and Lloyd have a chance to appear. I do have some hopes for others, though.

I don't really think they will be able to come up with a move-set for Pac-Man if they decide to add him...

Ew, Pac-Man. I don't think that'd end up well at all.

I don't see it either, but if they manage to make a move-set, I'll be willing to try him out.

I can't help but see it being really screwy though. I mean, he looked odd enough in Street Fighter X Tekken. I can't see him working for SSB like that.
