What if your holding the Up and Left of the + shaped buttons throughout the whole game?
Will it affect the game?

If thats the case, then no you wont be able to play it, as holding any direction on the D-Pad, dosent let you move on the world map (holding a direction on the D-Pad, and trying to move with the Circle Pad doesnt work).

Also in battle, the cursor will keep defaulting to the run option since thats in the upper left corner of the screen. You can still select stickers to fight with but you have to make your selection fast.

Guess I gotta get a new 3DS...
And just out of curiosity is there Paper Mario for DS?

Send it in to Nintendo, im sure they can fix it for you. If you still have a warranty, you dont have to pay for it. Though im not sure if you have to pay if you dont have one.

no partners so it must be s***

and i’m not even doing that as part of my ”holy s*** i hate everything” routine

i haven’t even played sticker star but i know that no partners makes it s*** because the partners were one of the things that made the first two games so great

So you would disagree to playing games solo?

My gripe with the game is that theres no exp at all, so theres little point in fighting enemies at all.

i uhh

i don’t really get what you mean

most of the partners in the first two paper mario games were great characters and that is even more important when it’s an RPG with a silent protagonist

not having any partners must mean that the game is a terrible paper mario game

also does it really not have EXP either

that’s just awful

Well actually what i meant with that comment was, would you disagree to playing an rpg solo, as in you have multiple characters available but choose to use only one. It was just a joke anyways but yeah. I agree with the no partner thing though, its not as good because of it. However, it does hold up somewhat on its own even without partners.

And yes, theres no exp. Fighting enemies either gets you coins, or more stickers, and sometimes health if you have little left. The only parameter you can increase is your HP and to do that you have to find HP Up Hearts (+5 HP each), kind of like Heart Containers.

Im not liking Sticker Star that much anymore. I dunno, maybe its just me, i find it to be difficult to figure out what to do. The game literally gives no help whatsoever, which is unusual for a Mario game. Im not saying i need my hand held throughout the game, but some kinda clue would be nice.

Kersti is just a waste of character space, she never has anything decent to say, and is no help at all.

I just finished the boss from World 3, so yeah, you can see where my frustration comes from (if you played that part that is)

i don't like it that much either. it's hard for me to say it's a bad game, because it really isn't at all, but i'm holding it to the standards of thousand year door, and it makes a lot of really dumb game design choices that ttyd didn't or wouldn't have made.
kersti not being helpful isn't really a problem, it's more the fact that there is literally no reason to battle ever except for bosses, and coupled with the fact that all fights are easily skippable or runaway-able, gameplay basically ends up being just walking to a place and then talking. there are also basically no memorable characters, which is a huge drawback from what the paper mario series has always been partially about.
Super Paper Mario may not have been much of a paper mario game, but at least it was well made. f***.
