30x=7(3x^3-2x^2+5x-0.531)
Cross-multiply...
30x=21x^3-14x^2+35x-3.717
Simplify right side of equation...
0=21x^3-14x^2+5x-3.717
Subtract 30x on both sides...
...and... I could use some help here.
I do think I am on the right track.

Tch you need help? Why not try a quadratic equation on here? Listen just use order of operations... I hate long math.
Also you forgot to completely distribute.

Quadratic equations don't work if there's a power distribution of anything that's not 0, 1 or 2. There's a 3 there.

You are. ZOMG DVDV WHY'D YOU PUT THREE DECIMAL PLACES!?! I have a solution: Pick random numbers (with decimal places). Substitute these for x until the equation is 0 = 0 Divide the triatic equation by (x - [random number that worked]) Then use the quadratic equation, and you're home free! I think
