10 (P-)bombs onstage, trying to scare the other one of and tricking them into their nuclear weapons. Much shielding due to bomb pressure and mindgames with bombs with no end. I actually would enjoy to see that, although I definetly would play that cause I just suck at mindgames and stuff.

Basically Bomberman can cover most if not all of Puff´s aproach options with his bombs if he leaves one next to him, since Bbm doesn´t have to aproach, he can really just camp her, and after 65% Puff is susceptible to die of the top from a Power Bomb and well she has to land eventually... Besides Puff can also die very early to Up-smash and most of Bbm´s aerials , specially an Up-air that is correctly followed by an Up-special which kills at 70% on Dreamland, and both F-throw and B-throw are great finishers that can kill easily after 80%. IMO this match-up is even harder than Puff vs YLink in Melee, is that or I just suck at this game, which may be also a possibility.

I just started playing as Bomberman, and I got some questions. Is he still good without bombs? And how can I get time to put some onstage? I often struggle to get my bombs out, and I rely pretty much on them to get stage control. And lastly, is it better to have a few P-Bombs/nuclear bombs out or more small ones? I have some replays as my BBM matches, but I cant watch it and I have no idea how to upload it either. OBS doesnt work for me :-/

Bomberman can be good without his bombs but he´s way better when he has them (Afro has a really good one). Besides you really need to put alot of time to learn him really well, little combos like : down-air to Up-air after a down-throw, or side-spec to d-tilt to up-tilt at low percents, and btw should you always charge a bomb once the match starts, I´ll recomend charging it to only medium and placing it next to you; so you can start gaining stage control, also Bomberman is not that slow either so getting bombs out shouldn´t be that hard maybe you should try to jump and charge it sometimes. Unless you´re fighting a really aggresive character like Marth, or Fox, then you´re very likely screwed. lol No, but seriously doe try to grab them or hit them away with an aerial so you can start charging bombs.

Instead of charging you can try just spamming midget bombs all over the place.
Also, if your timing is right on stages like smashville a bomb sitting on the ledge will probably endup stage-spiking low recoveries. Its pretty great.

Give BBM more of a chance in horizontal recoveries!

What would you think of his recovery being more like Diddy Kong's in the sense that he can charge and angle it but with less vertical height? No charge up B would be a fairly low blast up so it could be used for followups and full charge would be good verticle distance (but signifigantly less than current) with slight angling options. Not too much but just enough to give him more of a chance with horizontal recovery. Or maybe Side b in air pushing BBM slightly forward and up instead of cancelling momentum? Then having bomb detonate cancel momentum instead

I kinda dont want diddy recovery tho. Honestly given Bomber's onstage potential he doesnt really need amazing recovery. Side B not cancelling momentum is a cool idea, but I'm worried about how that would effect his bomb game (Approaching with a sliding bomb sounds pretty scary when you think about it)

Nah It should for sure cancel momentum on the ground just not in air (And even then just a tiny push forward and slightly up. Nothing big, just enough to stall in air a little, you know?). haha That would be scary if it didn't cancel on ground The only reason I don't like BBM's recovery is because he is very easily hit out of it. Peach MU is ridiculous. Knock me down somehow then just guard with d-tilt. That's the best example of it but there are plenty of others. Just want more options to mix it up a bit and throw opponents off. As of now it's a very predictable recovery imo

Does Bomberman need it? It patches up the main weakness of a solid mid-tier.

True, I guess. He's still pretty jugglable though. But I see what you're sayin
