KP, how do I make chili?

ingredients
*1 bag of kidney beans
*2 veggie broth cubes
*1 lb of ground beef
*1 onion
*1 jalapeño
*1 green pepper
*1 30oz. aluminum can of tomato sauce
*1 6oz aluminum can of tomato paste
*salt
*pepper
*chili powder
*cayenne pepper
*paprika

**optional
*6 roma tomatoes
*olive oil
*2 cloves of garlic
*1 cup of rice


Part I
1. Soak a bag of beans [kidney] in veggie broth over night [I use the dis-solvable cubes]
2. Drain the water the next day

Part II
1. Pan fry a pound of ground beef in a skillet.
2. When it is nearly cooked add in [1] chopped onion, [1] seeded and diced jalapeño AN ACTUAL JALAPEÑO NOT A CANNED ONE, [1] diced green bell pepper. STIR IT AROUND FOR A BIT.
3. Cook until the meat is no longer red and the onions are clear.

Part III [the longest part if you don't count the bean soaking]
1. Put the beans and the meat together in a large pot. Like a pot that is a foot tall.
2. add in [1] 30oz. aluminum can of tomato sauce and [1] 6oz aluminum can of tomato paste.
3. add in some salt, pepper, lots of chili powder, cayenne pepper [this will determine how spicy it is for the large part], and paprika.
4. Stir
5. turn on the heat until there is a boil
6. turn on low heat and let the pot simmer for one hour [this will reduce the soup consistency to a chili consistency. If you like it soupy then don't simmer it for an hour]
7. Stir frequently during this period.
8. Cover it with a lid and let it simmer for one more hour [this hour will let the flavors do their thing and has little to do with consistency].

Optional part I
1. Get some roma tomatoes
2. cut them in half and use a spoon to get the seeds and that white part out.
3. dice some garlic
4. get a bowl and put the garlic in with some olive oil, salt, pepper, and chili powder.
5. cover the tomato halves with the oil mixture
6. put the tomatoes on a pan and cook in an oven around 400 degrees
7. look up pictures of oven roasted tomatoes and cook them until they look like that
8. put these on top of your chili

Optional part II
1. put in 1 cup of steamed rice
